      Taped at O’Hara Arena Dayton Ohio Aug 13 1971. In my opinion the finest Who unofficial ever made. It’s from an extremely good aud tape. The overall sound is quite good. However the thing that makes this particular recording stand out is the performance. The band seems to be in a great mood. Pete especially is very friendly and talkative with the aud. In fact he’s absolutely the front man at this show. The band is on fire and honestly this is The Who at their peak live. Just an incredible night.
      If you look around you can probably find the complete show and you definitely should. But as not only a great memento of this incredible show , it’s also record you’ll find yourself playing over and over. Releases like this is why unofficials are such a treasure for fans sometimes.
      Can’t praise this one enough.
      The original releasers tried to cram every second of music on here as they could. So don’t be alarmed when the last secs of WGFA get cut off by the runout groove. Thats the way they all are pressed.

        Sorry guys, wrong cover up yonder - it should be Berkley's rip-off of CBM's "Collector's Item" which ripped off a really nice blue covered orig. press on an unamed label {That label also did a Neil Young boot }

          this is the first pressing, reported to be available in the Ohio/Indiana/Illinois area in the fall of 1971. just found a sealed mint copy today as a matter of fact.

            Hara Arena, Dayton, Ohio, USA – August 13, 1971. Brown jacket with gatefold there are different colors of the cover from other manufactures. Vocals are up in the mix. Sound is very in your face.

              The 1st LP I ever bought was "Live At Leeds". My 1st concert was "The 'Oo" at the Pontiac, (Michigan) Silverdome on December 5th, 1975. When I saw this album in the import section, I bought it and my expectations were higher than the quality I got. I put this away for a few years, then listened again with a different attitude. Not a great recording, but you could tell that the band was tight and in great form, especially "Baby Don't You Do It". This is THE best version of it. That is rock and roll at it's finest. Pete's comments, etc., and crowd noise actually is cool to hear. Makes the recording not sound sterile, and even if it's a large venue, I wish more artists would do this with the live recordings. I would try to put it through Audacity and for all to hear, but way back when (1978) I lent the album to a friend who was compiling their live stuff in chronological order. His brother went to listen to it, drunkenly dropped cigarette hots on it and left it out of the jacket near a heat vent. This added needle-to-groove noise and a big skip in "B.D.Y.D.I.". With Audacity I got rid of the obvious skip, but the songs continuity was ruined.

                this is a very nice 2 cd japan set of the infamous hara hara dayton ohio arena show from august 1971, this has been a boot for over 40 years on lp called collectors item but here you get almost the whole show finally, the bands set ended with naked eye but during the second to last song ( magic bus) that is where it fades out to the end of the disc, anyway this is a silver factory pressed cd set i have never heard this show sound better, its an audience recording but i would rate it at a b+ for that reason only regarding sound, also this comes with a nice fold out inner inlay with a replica of the collectors item bootleg lp sleeve, the inlay as you can see is a fantastic glossy 1971 live shot from this era and as i said on the inside of this inlay there are a couple of more 71 era live shots, this 2 cd set is one of the reasons japan bootlegs are the best!!!! the sound is awesome!!!!! this was released a couple of months ago on the speak Ezy label
