This is one hell of a record. "The Shadow Do!" gets a lot of love (rightfully so), but I would argue that this is the best Mizell collaboration in Bartz's catalog. Syreeta adds a lot to the proceedings. Great sounding pressing, too. -
STOOOOOOPPPPID. "Swing Thing" is a face melter and anybody that denies it as Italo Disco/Boogie is wrong.

Edited 2 years agoAnything produced by the Mizells with Wade Marcus is a must own. Highly refined jazz funk and an indicator of impeccable taste. The brilliance of Bartz with a classic track by the great Skip Scarborough put this album near the peak of Mizell productions, together with Gears (Johnny Hammond) and Black and Blues (Bobbi Humphrey). -
Amazing record - funky, jazzy, with lots of interesting twists and turns. Does not disappoint! -
Pretty flat sounding. This could use a real reissue, please. -

Every song on this record is a wonderful listen. Beautiful, jazzy funk that can uplift anyone to a great mood. I recommend playing this record on a beautiful evening when the sun is about to go down for ultimate experience. Just sit back and vibe out to the fullest.
