Chris Rea – Whatever Happened To Benny Santini?

Fine reissue. Fool.... Is a great song, however the rest of album is so so .

Rea’s debut was produced or maybe a little overproduced by Gus Dudgeon, Elton John’s man at the desk for the first half of the 70s and his legacy is staggering just for that batch of classic albums alone.
But Rea is a more blues oriented singer and even his slide guitar playing gives a nod to Ry Cooder. Benny Santini was a name the record company wanted Rea to use! He declined and the rest is history.

Quiet pressing and excellent mastering. Highly recommended. One of his best albums.

Fine reissue, and a good remaster too. The quality of the Culture Factory releases is apparently a much discussed topic, and of course it should be, since Many of these are timeless classics. Cover and inner sleeve is done in a JP Mini Vinyl replica style. Good, but not the great quality as the Japanese Cardboard sleeves. All In all, a fine release with Good sound
