Yet, this was issued 40 years ago, virgin, white dress, white vinyl. They also didn't know what the next 40 years would be for Madonna or her fans around the globe. So,...... professormouse - it's not Rocket science what kind of level a comment from a jaded generic bystander will be in 2020. Irrelevant at best. Back in 1984, not even I knew that this existed as I live in Europe, we had no internet, no CDs, no files.
Soundwise it's not too bad, considering that white vinyl back then had a particular bad reputation. I think it was a nice touch / gimmick / marketing stunt to press the promo on white vinyl.
Ps. Most European pressings had Into the Groove included as B1, and I do miss that track here. -
This is just hype to validate the prices of pressings like this and nothing more.
Anyone who says a 'white vinyl' release sounds better is talking er....what's the technical word.....bollocks.
Virgin, white dress............it's not rocket science. -
Edited 10 years agoI just recently purchased this album (unplayed) from djfriendlyrecords for $160, and it's flawless. Madonna's "Like A Virgin" album inspired so many people in the 1980's. Out of all the pressings of "Like A Virgin", this one sounds the best. It seems as if the vinyl was pressed better than any other version, so invest in a great copy while you can!
