Go-Go's – Beauty And The Beat

The first US vinyl pressings (and maybe others) of the Beauty and the Beat album contain a 2:36 mix of "We Got The Beat". This version of the song has all of the lead vocals double-tracked, the chorus vocals are in stereo, and there's no piano. It was also released as a B-side on the Our Lips Are Sealed 12".

Although the sleeve and labels were not changed, most pressings of the US LP contain the 2:32 hit single version of "We Got The Beat", which includes the piano, has the bass guitar lower in the mix, has mono chorus vocals, and has mostly solo lead vocals. This version also removes a 2-bar instrumental age right before the 2nd verse (at about 0:44). All CDs have this version as well.

Cover variations also exist.
According to bassist Kathy Valentine, as stated in her 2020 memoir "All I Ever Wanted: A Rock 'n' Roll Memoir", and excerpted here, the initial covers had a peach color. The artist name is in blue printed over a pink/beige or peach background; these features a painted effect to the back cover photos.

Valentine further states that the band was displeased with the peach cover and insisted on a new version. Subsequent covers were done in blue. Go-Go's is printed in white on a blue background features clear B&W halftone photos on back. Additionally the center photo of drummer Gina Schock is reversed.
